NEW DELHI: State-run fuel retailers have reduced by the price of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders used by hotels, restaurants and caterers or canteens by ₹102.5 but offered no relief on domestic cylinders of 14.2 kg used by households.
Also, jet fuel prices have been hiked by 2.75% on rising international benchmark prices, reversing the reductions in November and December. As fuel makes up about 12% of the aircraft operating cost, the increase will impact carriers at a time when the aviation industry is witnessing an uptick in the number of flights.
For commercial LPG, the price reduction is the first since October 6 when prices rose steadily from Rs 1,734 each to Rs 2,101 in Delhi on December 1. Commercial LPG prices are revised every month in line with international rates.
The price of LPG refills used by domestic kitchens remains unchanged at Rs 899.50 each since October 6, before going up by Rs 100 from July. There is no subsidy, which was abolished since June 2020.
Petrol and diesel prices too have not changed for almost two months now. Petrol costs ₹95.41 a litre in Delhi and diesel comes for ₹86.67 per litre.
