JAMMU: Army and Border Security Force (BSF) personnel detained another minor who crossed over from Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) along the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district on Thursday.
This is the fifth such detention since August 18.
Official sources confirmed, “Today (Thursday), a Pak intruder was captured by the BSF and Army in a forward area of LoC in Rajouri district.”
“The border guards noticed some suspicious movements along Kerri sector of upper Chingus in Rajouri and they kept close watch only to find a boy near the LoC later. Seeing a minor, the border guards didn’t open fire, and apprehended him.”
Sources added on questioning, the boy identified himself as a 14-year-old resident of Basti Jawewala at tehsil Deenpur in district Muzaffargarh Multan.
Earlier on August 24, the army apprehended a boy after he crossed the LoC and entered into Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
The boy was identified as a 16-year-old resident of village Harkadiya Bala in PoJK.
Prior to this on August 20, Indian Army repatriated three minor boys identified as Danyal Malik (17), Arbaz Rahim (13) and Umair Rahim (9)—all residents of PoJK—after they were apprehended along the Line of Control in Poonch district on August 18.
Earlier on January 8, the Indian Army had repatriated another minor boy, Ali Haider (14), a resident of Mirpur in PoJK, who inadvertently crossed the Line of Control into Poonch district on December 31.
