SRINAGAR: Mobile telephony and broadband services provided by private companies were restored in Kashmir valley on Friday night.
Inspector General of Police Kashmir range, Vijay Kumar Friday said that situation remained peaceful and under control across the Valley.
“So far the situation remained peaceful and under control, thanks to the public’s cooperation in maintaining law and order. Mobile service (voice call) and broadband of all Telecom Service Providers (TSPs) shall open from today evening at 10 pm,” he said.
Mobile phone connectivity and internet services were suspended on Thursday early morning as a “precautionary measure” following the death of separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani.
However, BSNL broadband facility was working as usual.
The situation remained peaceful on Friday and people offered Nimaz as usual. The shops and other businesses opened on Friday evening.
