NEW DELHI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who is on a two-day visit to Jammu, addressed party workers and urged them to chant “Jai Mata Di”.
He described his visit to be like a homecoming as his family had a long relationship with the state.

Addressing the rally, the former Congress president said that the BJP-RSS combine were trying to break the composite culture of Jammu and Kashmir. He demanded that the government restore the statehood of Jammu and Kashmir.
This will be Gandhi’s second visit to Jammu and Kashmir within a month. He was in Srinagar on August 9 and 10, when he inaugurated the party’s new office in Srinagar city.
Large crowds assembled at different locations besides reaching at Katra to welcome Gandhi on Thursday.
