Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone had a dreamy wedding in 2018 and a year later, the couple celebrated their first wedding anniversary in an equally grand manner. Ranveer and Deepika, with their families, visited two iconic temples across the country to seek blessings on their special day.
Revealing an interestingly detail about their first anniversary celebration, Ranveer recently shared on a show, “Basically, Deepika and I thought we should do something special on our first anniversary. As you know, our life is similar to 2 States (Chetan Bhagat’s novel). Her family is from Bengaluru, mine is from Mumbai. So we thought since it’s our first anniversary, why don’t we visit both places. We went to Golden Temple in Amritsar but before that, we visited the temple seen in the picture, which is Tirupati temple.” Referring to himself as the ‘husband of the century’, Ranveer correctly guessed the Tirupati temple in a picture shown to him on the show. He jokingly added, “Obviously I should know otherwise I’ll get a lappad (slap) when I get back home.” Away from Mumbai, Ranveer and Deepika tied the knot in at Villa del Balbianello in Lake Como, Italy. The couple had two wedding ceremonies with South Indian and Sindhi rituals being followed. Post their dreamy wedding, Ranveer and Deepika hosted multiple receptions across the country for their close friends and family.
Interestingly, post their wedding, Ranveer and Deepika’s first film together will be ’83. For sports entertainer, Ranveer has stepped into the shoes of Kapil Dev while DP essays his onscreen love Romi Bhatia. Directed by Kabir Khan, ’83 is scheduled to hit the screens on December 24, cashing in on the Christmas holiday.
