The new trailer of Tom Holland‘s ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home‘ brought Taylor Swift to everyone’s mind it seems.
The new clip that dropped Wednesday morning gave a new insight into the superhero film that is set to unfold in theatres on December 17. While it was all the supervillain appearances that got fans pumped and excited about the film, a certain scene involving Zendaya made fans of Andrew Garfield’s ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ a little weary.

The scene in question saw Zendaya as MJ falling off a scaffolding and Tom’s Peter Parker reaching out to grab her. Those keeping up with the MCU films will know that this scene was a cinematic parallel to Garfield’s film that saw Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy falling to her death.

“I think I’ve seen this film before, and I didn’t like the ending,” the lyrics of Taylor Swift’s hit ballad ‘exile’, became a popular phrase for all fans drawing comparisons between the two films.

“MARVEL WHEN I ASKED FOR PARALLELS THIS IS NOT WHAT I MEANT,” a fan said sharing screenshots of both actresses.

“I can’t go through this again,” another fan admitted while sharing a clip of the tragic death scene in the 2014 film.

There were a couple of others who theorised the possible conclusion of this scene that involved Garfield’s Peter Parker redeeming himself in a way by saving Zendaya’s MJ.

“IF ANDREW’S SPIDEY CATCHES MJ AS A WAY OF REDEMPTION FOR NOT SAVING GWEN I AM GOING TO FULLY LOSE IT,” a fan said on Twitter.

The trailer starts from where the previous instalment’ Spider-Man: Far From Home’ left off. It sees Peter struggling to cope with the ways of the world after his identity is revealed.

In a bid to make everyone forget he is the web-slinger, he seeks the help of Doctor Strange played by Benedict Cumberbatch. But his indecision instead opens the multiverse and unleashes a suite of villains from previous ‘Spider-Man’ franchises, including Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin from 2002’s ‘Spider-Man’, Alfred Molina’s Otto Octavius from ‘Spider-Man 2’, Thomas Haden Church’s Sandman from ‘Spider-Man 3′, Rhys Ifans’ the Lizard from ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ and Jamie Foxx’s Electro from 2014’s ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’.

Spider-Man: No Way Home’ also stars Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan and J K Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson.

The film releases in India in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
